Clothing in India

                                         Clothing in India

Clothing in India changes depending on the different ethnicity, geography, climate and cultural traditions of the people of each region of India. Historically, male and female clothing has evolved from simple kaupinam, langotadhotilungisareegamucha, and loincloths to cover the body to elaborate costumes not only used in daily wear but also on festive occasions as well as rituals and dance performances. In urban areas, western clothing is common and uniformly worn by people of all social levels. India also has a great diversity in terms of weaves, fibers, colors, and material of clothing. Sometimes, color codes are followed in clothing based on the religion and ritual concerned. The clothing in India also encompasses the wide variety of Indian embroidery, prints, handwork, embellishment, styles of wearing clothes. A wide mix of Indian traditional clothing and western styles can be seen in India.

Fashion in India

                                    Fashion in India

India is a country with an ancient clothing design tradition, yet an emerging in a Medium Saic fashion industry. Though a handful of designers existed before the 1980s, the late 80s and the 90s saw a spurt of growth. This was the result of increased exposure to global fashion and the economic boom after the economic liberalization of the Indian economy in 1990. The following decades firmly established fashion as an industry across India.

This followed an earlier hearing on October 30, when the committee heard evidence about below-legal wages and unethical conditions for clothing manufacturing workers.

Islam RELIGION

                                              Islam religion

Islam, dominant world religion promulgated by the Prophet Muhammad in Arabia in the 7th century CE. The Arabic term islām, literally “surrender,” illuminates the fundamental religious idea of Islam—that the believer (called a Muslim, from the active particle of islām) accepts surrender to the will of Allah (in Arabic, Allāh: God). Allah is viewed as the sole God—creator, sustainer, and restorer of the world. The will of Allah, to which human beings must submit, is made known through the sacred scriptures, the Qurʾān (often spelled Koran in English), which Allah revealed to his messenger, Muhammad. In Islam, Muhammad is considered the last of a series of prophets (including AdamNoahAbrahamMosesSolomon, and Jesus), and his message simultaneously consummates and completes the “revelations” attributed to earlier prophets.

What is Islam?

                                           What is Islam?

The word Islam means voluntarySubmission” or “Surrender” to the Will of God. It derives from the root word “salam,” meaning peace.
In the Quran, God defines that the only purpose for which He created mankind is to Worship Him. Islam recognizes that humankind has free choice in whether to obey or disobey God, but ultimately we will be held accountable to God in the next life for the choices that we make in this life. What is Islam, and what do Muslims believe?"

What is Islam, and what do Muslims believe?"

Islam is a religious system begun in the seventh century by Muhammad. Muslims follow the teachings of the Qur’an and strive to keep the Five Pillars.

the History of Islam
In the seventh century, Muhammad claimed the angel Gabriel visited him. During these angelic visitations, which continued for about 23 years until Muhammad's death, the angel purportedly revealed to Muhammad the words of Allah (the Arabic word for “God” used by Muslims). These dictated revelations compose the Qur'an, Islam's holy book. Islam means “submission,” deriving from a root word that means “peace.” The word Muslim means “one who submits to Allah.”

tourist definition in tourism

                               tourist definition of tourism

To prevent the disaccords to define "Tourism", UNWTO defined it as indicated below; "Tourism comprises the activities of persons traveling to and staying in places outside their usual environment for not more than one consecutive year for leisure, business, and other purposes." Tourism is different from travel.

tourist

                                               tourist

When you travel for fun, you're a tourist. Some local inhabitants of vacation destinations might have a negative image of obnoxious, camera-toting tourists, but really they're just travelers who are curious about different parts of the world. Beaches, amusement parks, castles, and big cities are all places you're likely to run into tourists. The term "tourist trap," or a place that exists only to take tourists' money, was first used in 1939 by the novelist Graham Greene.

Tourism

                                                    Tourism

Tourism is travel for pleasure or business; also the theory and practice of touring, the business of attracting, accommodating, and entertaining tourists, and the business of operating tours. Tourism may be international or within the traveler's country. The World Tourism Organization defines tourism more generally, in terms which go "beyond the common perception of tourism as being limited to holiday activity only", as people "traveling to and staying in places outside their usual environment for not more than one consecutive year for leisure and not less than 24 hours, business and other purposes".

Indian Muslims between Exclusion and Political Populism

Indian Muslims between Exclusion and Political Populism

Indian Muslims, the second largest Muslim community after that of Indonesia, is part of India’s global engagement. Their aspirations to play an assertive role in their future are not being welcomed sufficiently by their socio-religious leadership and the state institutions. Ultra-nationalist groups want to keep them a hostage of a troubled legacy of partition and justify their development deficit. Their engagement with the Indian state, society, and politics is defined by their aspirations and contestations.

Religion in India

                                         Religion in India

Religion in India is characterized by a diversity of religious beliefs and practices. India is a secular state with no state religion. The Indian subcontinent is the birthplace of four of the world's major religions; namely Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism. Throughout India's history, religion has been an essential part of the country's culture. Religious diversity and religious tolerance are both established in the country by the law and custom; the Constitution of India has declared the right to freedom of religion to be a fundamental right.

What is the future of Indian Muslims

What is the future of Indian Muslims

This a difficult question to answer. Right now BJP is in power and it's because the majority of Hindus and Sikhs voted for them. Why they did that? Well, it had to do with anger against Muslim's appeasement by Congress and growing resentment against Muslim community. The anger is growing for some time and it has to do with lots of intolerance shown by the Muslim community against the majority community of this country. Despite knowing that Cow is a sacred animal for Hindus the Indian Muslim community still tries to mock and tease the majority. You won't find non-Muslims trying to mock Muslims in the Islamic nation by eating pork openly or opening pork shops in Muslim's majority area.

Muslims in India: Confident in Democracy Despite Economic and Educational Challenges

Muslims in India: Confident in Democracy Despite Economic and Educational Challenges

Muslim Indians are more likely than the country's Hindus and members of all other religions - including those who don't belong to a religious group - to be "suffering." One-third (32%) of the country's Muslims are suffering. Gallup classifies respondents as "thriving," "struggling," or "suffering" according to how they rate their current and future lives on a ladder scale with steps numbered from 0 to 10 based on the Cantril Self-Anchoring Striving Scale. People who rate their current life situation and their life in five years a "4" or less are considered suffering. Hindus (23%) and members of India's various other religious sects (15%) are less likely to be suffering.

Muslims in India: A demographic and socio-economic profile

Muslims in India: A demographic and socio-economic profile

This paper presents a demographic and socio-economic profile of the Muslims in India, who form the largest minority in the country. At 120 million strong, Muslims constitute 12% of the population of India. Tracing the origin and ethnicity of Muslims in India, the findings suggest that most Indian Muslims are ethnically Indian since they are the descendants of the early converts to Islam. Many Indians who belonged to the lower castes embraced Islam for its egalitarianism which was practiced by the local Sufi saints. The paper provides a demographic history of Indian Muslims, including the growth and distribution of the Muslim population across Indian states over the past century.
