FBI opened an investigation into Trump after Comey firing, NYT reports

After President Trump fired then-FBI director James Comey in May 2017, The New York Times reports that the FBI began investigating whether the president was working on behalf of Russia. In a statement, the White House pushed back at the report, saying "President Trump has actually been tough on Russia."
